Introduction

The Institute of Korean Theological Information Network Service (IKTINOS) issued the first volume of Canon and Culture: A Journal of Biblical Interpretation in Context in 2007—in time for the centennial anniversary of the Great Revival Movement of Pyongyang in 1907. Canon and Culture seeks to address interpretive issues of the Bible in the original cultural context, in various cultural contexts since the canon’s closure, and in the postmodern culture of the 21th century. Canon and Culture endeavors to illuminate afresh biblical theology (OT/NT) in hermeneutical perspectives of East and West. The journal is committed to fostering an international, interdenominational, and interdisciplinary research in various biblical/theological disciplines to spark cross-cultural conversations.
